My sister's friend, Shelly Frias, lost her life to a Ependymoma Tumor. The Shelly Foundation was founded in September 2006 by her family in memory of Shelly's life. Shelly's mother hand-crafts beautiful vintage style hats, so I figured a hat quilt would be an appropriate design for the silent auction. I designed this quilt while away on a "sisters' retreat" with my mom and sisters.
