Practiced free-hand butterflies this morning. Pam from the orthodontics office where all our daughters received their braces has been graciously answering my questions about how I should quilt my Tumbling Blocks quilt. She suggested an all-over butterfly panto to pull in the butterfly border. I really like using pantographs for the ease of stitching a design that always looks good, but I like the look of things more random. So I played with a whiteboard, drawing the 'Flight' pantograph from Mary M Covey. After many practice runs, I tried out my stitching skills on this binky. I think it looks pretty good! Now to find some thread that will look good on Tumbling Blocks to be able to complete that project.
