I'm back....

and quilting again.  Family went to Disneyland for a week early July, I went to teacher camp, Forestry Institute for Teachers, for a week mid-July, and I was gone to Stampin' Up! Convention with Peggy and Polly for a week late July.  It has been a busy summer, and even busier getting things back in order after being gone so long.

Thread breakage...problem solved.  After doing thread research with the help of Threadology from Superior Threads, I found a chart that lists the size needle that should be used with the different weights of thread.  I'm using Permacore 30wt thread and had a 90/14 needle in Qvirky.  Thread would break occasionally to more often.  Consulting the chart, switched to a 100/16 needle and the thread hasn't broken on the last three binky tops (knock on wood).  WAHOO!!!

Julie and family stayed the weekend with us.  Should have been that they stayed the weekend at our house while we were gone tubing Cache Creek, but after our whole family experienced rubber rash from tubing on the creek all day Saturday, we decided to come home and invade their stay at Motel Murphy.  I think it worked out better that way.  We really enjoyed their visit.  Julie brought me Zachary's quilt so I can quilt a puzzle piece quilt design on it for her.  I'm so excited.  I practiced the design on a Binky and I am confident to begin work on her quilt.   I just need to quilt off the 20 yards of backing I have loaded on the frame.  I do this on purpose.  If I load a bunch of backing on the frame, then I plow through the Binky tops waiting to be quilted before I can start on my own projects.

I have four 'other than Binky' projects waiting for their turn on Qvirky so I'm madly quilting away today.  Marilyn graciously allowed me to borrow her Pajama Quilter Reloaded DVD so I am practicing the different designs on the Binkys, starting with leaves.  I've got the meander and loopies down.
