Sam's T-shirt Quilt

IMGP0199Our oldest daughter, Samantha, made this quilt.  Now the thing you need to know first about Sam is that she would prefer to do ANYTHING other than sew.   I enlist the girls help often for Binky Patrol.  "Mom, I will sort, fold, cut, and iron fabric for you but please don't make me sew."  She will run the robot on the quilting machine for me.  She doesn't consider that sewing, it is running the robot.

So when Sam came to me asking how difficult it was to make a t-shirt quilt, I was pleasantly surprised!  She had been cleaning her room and decided she wouldn't be wearing these high school t-shirts anymore, so she would make a quilt out of them.  From start to finish, it was complete in about three weeks.  She did every stitch, cutting, layout, quilting and binding.  I'm so proud of her!  When the teens came over last week to help out with Binky Patrol and earn some community service hours, Sam brought out her quilt and there are several who now want to make one of their own!
