I made this quilt for the Community Service component of the North Wind Quilt Guild. We will be raffling this quilt to raise funds for batting for the quilts we donate to various organizations. The Guild hopes to get a date at Winterhawk Winery for their Community Service Sundays events.
After making the pink and brown Fractured Circles Quilt, I knew I HAD to make more Drunkard's Path quilts. Dug through my 8.5 inch box of scraps and a bunch of purples and greens migrated their way into my hands. All things came together at just the right time. Purple and Green scraps, needing a quilt to raffle at a winery, I needed to make more Drunkard's Path quilts. Thus this quilt was born. I call it Vineyard's Path. It measures 86x86 inches. Quilted with freehand feathers in the green path, meander and petals in the purple path, a loopy in the sashing, and the Uneven Feather panto on the border.
I brought the scraps with me to Sisters OR for the Outdoor Quilt Show. While camping in my tent trailer, I was able to cut and assemble all the blocks for this quilt. Found out a generator will easily run a sewing machine. It does struggle a little more with powering the travel iron I brought with me. While walking the show, I took pictures of all the Drunkard's Path layouts we saw and I decided I liked this medallion layout best for this project. The possibilities are endless! If you want to see someone truly addicted to Drunkard's Path, look at Marilyn's blog. She can't get enough of them! She has the Accuquilt Studio cutter, and the Accuquilt Go cutter so she cuts them out in a jiffy! Interested in this quilt? Use the 'Contact Me' form on the sidebar and I can set you up with raffle tickets (as soon as we get them together!).
